Farewell 4H

We moved into a two bedroom last week. This is huge for us! We have been wanting more space for a while now and this apartment kind of fell into our laps.

Collin and I moved most of our furniture and stuff ourselves with a little help from a friend with a couple heavy/awkward things. We decided not to pack up much since we were just moving down the hall…in hindsight this might not have been the best approach. Instead of a few hours it took around 12 from start to finish. But the upside was barely any unpacking since I took things from one closet and put them right into a new one. We also had 2 little kidlets to nap, feed, and entertain a the same time. It was a little nuts at times but it all worked out and we couldn’t be happier.

Collin worked like crazy to get all the furniture set up and the pictures hung before returning to work on Monday. He was amazing! Seriously. While I unpacked our new place he cleaned our our place from top to bottom. It sparkled. He’s a keeper, that one.

It was bittersweet to hand over our keys to our home for the past 4 years. We loved it dearly. We painted it ourselves, spent our newlywed years there, and brought both of our kids home from the hospital to that apartment. A lot of memories….but we’re starting a new chapter in our lives now and are so thrilled to be so close to all our friends and neighbors in this beautiful building.

Yay for new beginnings! I’ll post some pictures of our new place soon.

Wow, those are some shiny floors! Aren’t you glad I taught Collin how to clean?:) I loved your apartment, too, and can understand those mixed feelings at moving. But can’t wait to see your new place now. I’m sure you have it looking and feeling like home!
