Sorry the posts have been scarce this week.
Violet and I are leaving in the morning for Utah for family wedding this weekend. I haven’t flown solo with her since she was 9 or 10 months old. Am I nervous? Yup.
5 hours is a long time to keep this girl happy in a small space. If you’ve ever seen us at church on Sunday you might know what i’m talking about :)
Hopefully a couple new toys and snacks will keep her (and me) from climbing the walls!
As you can see she’s already gearing up for the trip by getting re-acquainted with her carseat. She’s all smiles now. I guarantee that will change when she realizes that it’s yet another device we use to contain her.
Anywho, hope everyone has a great weekend! I will get back to my bloggin’ self when we get back.

So, I started a new job this week. I won’t go into too many details about that here, but the point is I had a week off in between my old job and my new job. That basically means I tagged along with Jen and Violet all week. I think Violet resented the fact that I was intruding on her mommy time, though. Jen doesn’t much like to take videos, so I figured I better use the opportunity to take a few. The way things are going, one day I’m going to wake up and realize that Violet is 18 years old, and all we have to show for the previous 17 years are a couple of fuzzy iPhone photos.
Anyway, let’s get started, shall we? Disclaimer: some of these may be from before my week off that I never got around to posting, so don’t be alarmed if it seems like Violet is digressing in her walking skills.
This first one is maybe my favorite. Violet really likes to dance to music. And she has some pretty sweet moves too. I don’t know what the music is that’s playing (I think we were just playing Pandora from the iPad, so who knows).

We went to the Children’s Museum on one of the days when it was raining. She doesn’t appreciate that kid taking all her balls. Because of course, they all belong to her. They have a section of the museum dedicated to Dora the Explorer. She’s never seen an episode of Dora, so I have no idea how she knows who she is, but she was in heaven. I guess we’ll have to start letting her watch it.

A while ago, I think Jen mentioned Violet’s obsession with balls. Here she is calling her peas balls.

These next couple are from random playgrounds that we took Violet to. On the one where she’s in her diaper, we forgot to bring a swim suit of any kind, and since all she seemed to want to do was play in the water, we decided to just strip her down so she wouldn’t have to go home in wet clothes (we were a ways from our apartment). At that same playground, Violet built a sand castle with a little kid named Dexter who was awesome. Partly, I’ll admit, because his name was Dexter. Sorry, I don’t have any video or pictures of that, though.

Well folks my wishful thinking out loud on my blog has been fulfilled. My sweet mother-in-law decided to send me pair as an early birthday present! Isn’t that so thoughtful? It was totally unexpected. I never thought i’d actually get a pair by posting my desire for them on the internet. I already love them too. Violet is totally jealous. She’s a shoe maniac. Raids my closet everyday. Pulls them all out into the hallway then throws them over her shoulders exclaiming: “sue, sue, sue”. It’s pretty cute until it’s not. And then it’s just annoying when all my shoes are all over the house.
Anyway, I digress. The best part of it is that some shoeless child in the world just got a new pair too! Thanks so much again, Lynn.
You’re a real gem of a gal :)

Have you guys seen these shoes? My hip sister has some and told me how comfortable they are. Plus with each pair purchased a new pair is donated to a child in need. How awesome is that? You can read more about their “One for One” movement here.
I want some. Bad. Size 7.5 in Ash Canvas. Thanks!
They check out the Tiny Toms. So fun! Can’t you just see little Violet romping around in them? Parent friendly velcro closure, yes please :)
Maybe we can have matching shoes. We are have loads of fun with “Daa”, this week despite the weather, boo. But more on that later.
